About the blog & Caroline

Caroline Markos Headshot Low resEver-curious about what makes people tick, I am passionate about telling stories through social and online media. I have a Master’s Degree in Music (singer/soprano) and have managed social media for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

I am now looking for my next great career adventure!

So, while I’m unemployed, I’ve decided to fill my hours by training for my first full-marathon!  Yippee! (…and I’m looking for a job too. Don’t worry. You can take a look at my LinkedIn profile here.)

Having run three half-marathons, I’m excited for the challenge of training for and running 26.2 miles, and also to cross the experience off my bucket list!

I was born in Whitehorse, Yukon  and as a singer toured and recorded vocalist with the ensemble “The Peters Drury Trio” from 1999-2005, and with that group sold 26,000 copies of our albums all over the world.

In 2006 I refocused my musical interests, falling in love with classical music, I completed my diploma in Voice Performance at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, my B.Mus in Opera Performance from UBC, and graduated in 2013 with my M.Mus from the University of Manitoba studying with renowned Canadian sopranos Tracy Dahl and Monica Huisman.

I hope you enjoy reading all of the things that my brain comes up with on my runs – some, hopefully, inspirational/motivational; and some will be just plain silly.  But I’ve never been one to take myself too seriously.
